Search engine optimization helps you increase traffic. Image is the great part of any website/blog. Any blog are made with only image like Wallpaper site. Many webmaster just optimize for text only . Search optimization for image is also important. Google image search is a good traffic source.

Here are a few tips for optimizing your image to improve their performance on the page and seach engine. I use this tips for optimizing my blog tips. So read on.

1.       Use the Keyword in the file name :

Just like you use keywords in you title, post body are important for page,  similarly is try for images. Using keyword rich word in your image file name is helping search engine determine relevancy. And your image gets high rank. For example the image in the post is originally name “ismapak_oo00012345.jpg” , which do not add any importance about this web page, now I rename the image like “Image_optimization_tips”  it give a lot information to search engine and user also.

Google suggests that place all image in one folder on your site like useme4info.om/images. You use common image file type like JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP.

2.       Create descriptive alt text:

This is the most important factor that affects the google search rankings and help you got more traffic form google image search. The Alt attribute is use to describe the contents of an image file. It provide search engine information about subject matter of image.it treated as an alternate text which would apper if the image is not loaded. The image HTML code is as follows.

For blogger :

After uploading the image in the post editor, click on HTML tab and you will see a code like below

Add a brief description of the image in between the Alt quotes.

3.       The right Anchor text :

anchore text is also important in Image SEO. You can make sure that anchor text you use with in your site is useful, descriptive and relevant. This improve your search engine result as well as reader visiting uyour site.

4.       Make sure the image match the content :

the content surrounding the image should be related to the thinks that you have optimize such as : anchor text, image url, alt tag. When these things align, it helps search engines confirm that you’re not spamming and that the image is of higher quality and relevant. Make sure that image are placed near the relevant text. I recommend providing good descriptive title and captions of your image.

5.       Add Hyphens to the name:

Always use hypens when naming the image. For example if I name an image : image_optimization_tips, this name is consider as a single keyword. But if the name is like image optimization tips, it treated as 3 different keywords. So by using hypens your image got maximum benefits
